Looking at a cat 963 and wondering if anyone can look up a serial number to verify recent work done or do i need to call dealer? Just wanting to verify the hours are accurate. Seller told me the number is BBD00898 thanks
Well don't have access to any service info but here's a little ifo off SIS: 963C TRACK LOADER Machine Serial Number - BBD00898 (Build Date - 20/04/2004) 3126B ENGINE - MACHINE Engine Serial Number - BMA13075 (Build Date - 02/04/2004, Test Date - 02/04/2004, Ship Date - unknown)
For service work and any history you would need to talk to the Cat dealer local to the seller who (hopefully) have some records of what service work they performed on it and when, plus the hourmeter reading at the time. The best you can hope for is that they can tell you on a certain date the machine hourmeter registered X hours.

Not 100% sure what info you need or can use but attached is the "As shipped" information that comes up on SIS. Note that most of those "part numbers" would link to more information, usually the page in parts book for that assembly. If there is a specific item or assembly you would like me to check for you let me know.
