Can you ticket a horse?

Welder Dave · 2022-10-28 21:32

Saw this today while getting gas. The owners must have been in the restaurant having lunch.

Local pub has a coral out front that quite often has horses awaiting the return of their people. Nothing to see here…..

Not something you see very often.

Why would you want to pester the owner ? leave them be, they are not hurting you at all.

    Stupid horses.

Good grief, I wasn't suggesting they get ticketed at all. If someone tried I'd hope they'd get a good swift kick. There's a big diesel tank on that lot where people fill up is why the no parking. It's quite wide so a couple horses there for 1/2 an hour isn't hurting anyone. I felt sorry for the horses because it was quite windy that day.

Dave, believe it or not, in many countries the laws around horses have never been repelled. In NZ many years ago a bloke lost his driver's license for drink driving. Not to be out done he rode his horse to the pub where he drunk even more the he did driving, poured himself onto the horse and let the animal take him home. The coppers got him and was charged with a very old law, drunk in charge of an animal. Kinda reminds me of Lee Marvin in Paint Your Wagon.

There is brew pub in the North valley of Albuquerque, near equestrian trails, where is quite common to see horses waiting for their riders to have a few drinks.

Driving while impaired (DWI) -- three words that seem self-explanatory. They mean you're doing something very idiotic -- driving drunk -- and are subject to a big fine and jail time. But is the term DWI limited to cars? Does it extend to horses, lawnmowers, ATVs, too? Before you embark on your summer joy rides, let's VERIFY. VERIFY SOURCE To VERIFY, we consulted Officer J.B. Price with the Greensboro Police Department's traffic safety unit and referenced the website of Winston-Salem-based law office of J. Scott Smith. VERIFY PROCESS Officer Price explained you cannot get a DWI while riding a horse or driving a horse-drawn carriage, but you could get charged with another crime like impeding traffic or trespassing. Section e of the 20-138.1 impaired driving law states e) "not withstanding the definition of 'vehicle' pursuant to G.S. 20-4.01(49) for purposes of this section the word "vehicle" does not include a horse.

Your title does not agree with this new opinion of yours.

Horses are no different than a car when it comes to DWIs . There have been several horse /car wrecks around here . One thing that 99% of the people dont know is a trained horse will do what ever its owner wants it to do even if it kills it. I am not a horse lover but i can easily hate alot of horse owners . Most Horse owners are a different bread not all but most.

When I was a kid there was a old blind guy who had a seeing eye dog that lived in town {Prosser Wa}. One day a train was moving through town, the dog led him right into it, he was also deaf. Somedays it seems anything can go haywire.
