A customer we do repair work for just spent $20,000 each on two 06 Petes with 475 ISX engines. They own apiary biz and run to Calif. They had them converted by Cummins in Nov 15. Both were flops -nothing but trouble. All the crap was removed and they are in court about it. He just bought two new trucks to run south. The Cat I don't know. Truck Shop

I recommend the "WAVE" method.... when you get close enough to California to wave at it, turn around, dump the load, and drive away as fast as you can get away with. Let the Kommiefornia truckers deal with that nonsense, it's bad enough outside of that nut factory.

And I agree. But hauling bees is a little different. You can't just turn a load of pollinating hives over to just any body. If it's hot weather and you stop to long they will swarm. The bee biz is big bucks. A Shasta Cal DOT rookie found out the hard way last year when he red lighted one for inspection.:badidea Truck Shop

One of the bee trucks was in today for service work. I asked the driver what a load of bees is worth. With 515 colonies on the trailer- it's value is $325,000. The oldest truck they have is a 2013 now. They figure when the trucks hit 300 to 350K they will just trade them before too many problems arise. He and his own seven 389's that are top of the line, all sporting 600 hp. No more rebuilds or mods for them they have had enough of that. Truck Shop

Are there people that will hook to your trailer at the line and complete the haul? Looking into heavy haul with a dedicated route to CA.

Find somebody with a yard in Nevada, you can probably work a deal with them, or a California company with a location across the line. It's so bad down there, you can't pick a can up from the port yard unless you're Tier 4 final, they have some dedicated tractors pulling from the port to their yard and back all day long, swapping with their Tier 3 and 4i rigs, no more direct deliveries. Stupid.

Yes there is. But I'm not sure if it is rebrokered, because of insurance.
