Depends on what series it is. The straight 1450 had regular finals with removable axles like the smaller case machines. However, the 1450B has planetary finals. The straight 1450 should have a plug at the top of the final on the inside. Crawl under the machine and find where the bottom of the final is. You'll see the bull gear cover which has a drain plug directly on the very bottom, so you can drain the fluid. Keep looking up on the inside and you'll see a plug. My 850 and 1155 series plugs took a 1" wrench to remove it. If it has the planetary finals the plug might be on the outside toward the center of the hub. Or they might be in the same place of the smaller machines.

thanks for that info. Do you happen to know what year the B series began? I can't find a serial plate on this thing anywhere, and I don't know if there are any stampings (frame, etc) on these ,but I thought it was a B. Pretty sure it's early to mid 80s machine. Anyone have a manual for this machine? Thanks again-George

Here's some info on the B model. Look at the final drives in the picture, these are what the planetary type finals look like on the B series. http://www.casece.com/en_us/Equipment/Crawler-Dozers/Pages/1450B.aspx Google 1450 and look at the difference in the finals.
