CASE 521D 3.9 Cummins serpentine belt problem.

The serpentine belt occasionally jumps out of alignment on one or two grooved pulleys. All of the pulleys are in alignment and the tensioner was replaced. Any ideas as to why?

Look at all your pulleys and make sure the groves are clean. Most of the time there is burned belt rubber in the grooves.

OEM tensioner or off brand. Usually it’s build up on the pulleys or on the belt. Could also be the spring bounces enough on the tensioners or a worn out idler, if there are any.

Thanks guys. I will double check the pulleys for any debris. The tensioner is oem and the idler bearings are tight and in alignment with everything else.
