Case 570 MXT Hydraulic problem

Wes22 · 2019-10-07 18:04

Friend cam over and went to fill it up with Diesel and started putting in the Hydraulic system when I caught him he had almost added a gallon. it never got started or operated, so we drained the tank and added new fluid. No the hydraulics do not work at all, it seems like the pump is not even working? so we cracked a line on the diaphragm and it just trickled out even trying to use the hydraulics did nothing. Can any one advise us please

Welcome to HEF @Wes22 When the hydraulic pumps on these get a few hours on them, it's not unusual that they lose their prime when the hydraulic oil is drained. Hopefully you will have some compressed air available, if so, remove the filler cap to the hydraulic tank, put some air into the tank using a rag to seal around the filler. Idle up the engine while pressurizing the tank, the air pressure will force the oil into the hyd pump. If you don't have compressed air handy, with the engine idling, you can loosen the main pressure supply hose to the loader control valve, just a turn or two, that often works as well.

Pressurize your hyd. tank with air. The pumps on this series of machine is just a bit higher than the oil level. There was s a plug on the rear of the tank under cover that you can plumb a fitting in.

So tried both ways but ended up making an adapter for back side of tank. Plugged compressor in to charge it got some hydraulics but loader will hardly lift off ground curl works, clam shell very slow and box scrapper can’t come of ground it tries

How do you go about bleeding the system it barely works but we are gaining and thank you guys for the help

No need to bleed the system just work all the controls .

We have worked the controls for about and hour and still the same got curl clam opens slow no lift in the boom or box scrapper

@Wes22 So how long did you try to get the hydraulics working - without any oil getting to the pump??

They brought me in to help fix after what I assume they tried several times and that’s what bothers me the most. I have tried to get the whole story but it keeps changing. So I am assuming they tried several times when there was no fluid to the system

Sounds like they may have burned the pump down.

Yup I believe that is what happened as they told me they did try and run the hydraulics before the fluid was in the pump. We pulled and going to have it rebuilt. Thanks for everyone’s input just hoping for something I was over looking.
