Im looking for a wheel loader to load feed and do some work around the farm. My question is which one is the better Value? Both machines have around 9,000 hrs on and tires are about 50% on both machines. Neither machines have a quick attach. Both are in good question. The case 621B has a brake pressure light that flashes but will go away when you run it for some time. Other than that both machines are sound and are in good condition. Any feedback on either machines i would greatly appreciate. 1995- 621B- $27,000 2005- 721D- $41,000
Depends what you are expecting from each unit. Sounds like you only intend to do relatively light duty work with the machines, so either one will likely suit your needs well. You will likely have to do at least some repairs on both machines. The 621B likely needs more work, but the lower price may outweigh the repairs. Both machines have similar drive train. Both have good engines. 621B: B series is older, and has less electronics. Easier to repair yourself. Parts are becoming less available for the B series loaders. Brake pressure light is likely the accumulators. No transmission calibration available Wiring is likely getting old and brittle. Harness repairs will likely be needed soon. Harness is not available from Case. Transmission parts are available from Case and ZF still. 721D D series has more electronics, but most diagnostics can be done in the monitor. Parts are still available, but being phased out also. Transmission can be calibrated on board.
