Hey does anyone on here know what kind of machines have the same starter as my case 680ck loader backhoe
The 680CKs have a 301 ci diesel in them. The Case 336 ci diesel uses the same starter. They were in the 680Es,680Gs and 680Hs. Both motors were used in agricultural tractors also.
thank u also my starter is working but wen I start it sounds like the starter is grinding the teeth off the fly wheel if so can I not move the machine either way to get to a different section of the flywheel? Thanks hake
Moving the machine either way won't help the starter problem. You should remove the starter and turn the engine one full revolution. Look for damaged teeth on the ringgear as you do that. It may be a weak Bendix drive on the starting motor that is causing the gears to grind. There is a sheet metal plate on the bottom - front of the torque convertor housing that can be removed and enable you to see the ringgear.
