One of my customers bought this loader. It is an ex military machine. I was able to get it started but the transmission wont move fwd or rev. It is an Allison transmission with mechanical linkage and about four wires to the control valve. I was told it has an electrical problem but I cannot find a fuse panel on this machine. The inline fuse to the control valve is good but there is no power going to the wires. I don't see a disconnect switch under the pedals or any switches on the shifter. Any help would be appreciated.
I don't think there are any electrics controling that model. Could be transmission cut out - this is an air actuated cylinder mounted on the transmission control valve. They usually get moisture in them & rust up. Remove the cylinder & check the plunger as well
at the control valve you will find a air hose that goes to the brake valve, remove this hose at the trans control valve, remove the large cutout valve that is screwed into the valve assembly, there is a piston and seal that sticks, unfreeze it so it can move, the valve works by air pressure applied from the brake pedel in the cab, also use caution/ machine in netural/ start engine/build air pressure/ if you have air flowing to that line at the cutout with out the brake pedel applied the brake and parking brake need rebuild or replaceing. left valve brake and cutout/right valve brake. hope this helps.
ps should have said you can plug that air line at the valve and it may move, could be brake pedal is stuck, dirt build up under the heal of the pedal not releasing causing air to be applied all the time to that clutch cutout, you can also look at the parts picks on line at case its a w24c, the military unit had some changes but mostly the same unit.
Thanks for all the information.
Anyone know what type of Trans oil goes in a MW24C loader
