my 1997 case 9030b has the "case" 6t-590, is this identical to the cummins 6bt, and if so do i need to fix the killer dowel pin problem associated with the b series cummins?
The block and head are the same and crank too. Other parts have minor differences, unless you are making maximum hp, don't worry about the kdp. The kdp is a issue when you start flexing the block with lots of hp beyond stock levels. If you are into the gear case anyway, like putting in a new seal, then peen the dowel hole with a ***** punch and all will be well!
Great, thanks, that is exactly what i wanted to hear!!!
Only differences are possibly in the fuel system but that engine was used in Link-Belt, Komatsu, Kobelco, Hyundai and lots more. All put out lots less horsepower than a Dodge pickup.
