On 235 s there's a cover on drive motor side of final drive with a small gear that could be disengaged but I don't remember the details never had to tow one. Best of luck

on the new machines, you pull the final cover and pull the inner axle of the planetary.

    1. A disconnect pinion is located at the top of each final drive housing, behind the sprocket. 2. Remove two bolts and the bracket on top of the pinion retainer. 3. To disengage the pinion, use a 1/2 inch square drive to turn the retainer counterclockwise. Turn the retainer until the bracket can be turned 90° and installed under the retainer, with the slot in the bracket locking the retainer. 4. To prevent the retainer from moving while towing, bolt the bracket to the final drive housing. Use the two bolts through the slotted holes in the bracket.

There should be a pinion with a cross bar and two retaining bolts in the upper final drive case. If you take out the bolts and turn the hex head in the center it will disengage the pinion coupling and let the machine move free. Now be careful as it can roll free with no way to stop it. There is a good safety video of a D3 pulling one over a hill and it coming down after it and flipping it. If it can get going down hill have a machine holding it back as well as pulling it. Later Bob
