Can anyone tell me any info on a cat 235 excavator serial number 64r909. Trying to figure out what series it is and if it’s a grey market machine. I tried looking it up at cat but the website said it wasn’t a valid serial number.
A first series 235 excavator built 19 May 1979 in Belgium. Equivalent to a 32K-prefix US-built machine. Not grey market, AFAIK the whole of the 200-series excavator line was built simultaneously in both Belgium and the US in those days. Try putting 64R00909 as a Serial Number in the Cat system. See what that throws up.
Awesome, that worked in the cat website. Thank you for the response! From what it sounds like the first series are decent machines just not quite as desirable as the later models. Do they just lack power compared to the later 235’s? Or is there much difference?
