New to the forum. Looks like a lot of knowledge here! Bought this machine several months ago. It's been great until last week when it lost power and started smoking. I shut it off to check the engine bay for obvious issues. Started it up a few mins later and back to normal operation. Ran it for an hour with no issue. Next day, same thing. Started it up and had no power, like it was out of fuel. Let it run for a few mins and power came back up to normal. Changed the filter/separator thinking it was a restriction. Ran great the next day. Day after that, back to the same issue . Where should I be looking next? Is there an in-line filter somewhere? Does a pump come and go like that when it's failing?
You may have changed the filter/separator but where you REALLY need to go into is the head on which it mounts, then install an inline filter. See if this thread gives you some ideas. HeavyEquipmentForums
