Hey guys,I have an 2005 Cat 257B and the switch on the joystick for running the auxillary hydraulics seems to be acting up.If you let go of the switch the attachment will keep running a bit. I was wondering if you can take them apart and change/fix the switch,or if you have to buy a whole new joystick.Thanks
Yes they can be taken apart and repaired at least on the 277b,ours had broken wires inside the handle.
yes you can but the new handle isn't expensive.... do you have the buttons or the wheel which is pwm (pulse width modulation). on some of the 257bs with pulse width if you unplug the handle the ecm switchs to switch to ground. Kinda like the cpu goes to default. If it is the wheel type and you install a new handle, it doesn't work you will have to have a tech hook up to it and with Cat ET switch the parameters back to pwm.
