Cat 262 Engine Swap/Replace

Have a Cat 262 skid steer with a hole in the block, 147-1234, 3034t, which after reading a few threads on here is somewhat common. Here is my question, what is the best move forward, my engine block is junk, parts are hard to find, and expensive, put it all together and have another problem in 1000 hours. Out of all the threads I saw few people who posted their finished solution. Solution 1 used block $1600, used crank $1600, engine kit $1000, Labor my time, beer $200 total $4400 Solution 2 Cat short block $5600 will there be same problem with oil pump? Solution 3 4bt cummins $4000 big engine, does it fit without major modification of machine. Solution 4 Used engine $6000, same problem in future. Solution 5 another engine manufacturer, kubota, yanmar, 2.8 cummins ( $9000) Solution 6 buy a 703.40 Perkins from an aftermarket source. Any thoughts or solutions appreciated,

The first question for me would be if the machine is worth this kind of investment at all. I think this is why few people go through with an alt engine swap. The work required to "Make work/'make fit" would seem to quickly out value the machine. The only way that it would seem to make any financial sense would be to find a direct replacement used motor at the right price. At least then there is no cobbling together to make it fit. You know that the engine is at least going to fit and work with the machine. If that one blows then repeat. Honestly I would think scraping the machine and find something else makes the most sense. Spending all Winter prying a 390T into a space not made for it, doesn't even sound like fun regardless of how much beer was budgeted.
