I have the same thing on my 287b. It will come and go. There is a sealed bearing inside of the final drive motor which is inside the squirrel cage. When that starts to guy I noticed almost like a clicking. There are no grease fittings for the squirrel cage.

That is that I have found lol. if you open the engine compartment door there should be a drawing there showing all of the grease fittings on the machine.Good luck

Ok I have noticed that as well an have greased some of those fittings and don't think it really helped any. Another question we are using the machine fairly hard as we are digging out a basement with it. When we have it on full throttle we just notice today it has sorta like a missing sound coming from the exhaust, not constant but every so often and most noticebly when really working it hard. We cleaned out the air filter and it still does it. Any idea's what it might be?? Doesnt appear too be losing any power.

Check when the fuel filter was done and pull the airfilter blow it off with a compressor if its real dirty! Alot of people dont realize how dirty those airfilters get from just one real dusty job. it can make the machine really slow down

Hey there, do you guys have any ideas on why our CAT 277B might not be steering? It can go forwards & reverse, but you can't steer it. We have checked selenoids, checked for loose wires, etc, but nothing seems to be wrong. Wondering if there may be a problem with the Hydralics.
