Cat 308 E2 Battery Voltage Irregular

"Batter Voltage Irregular" code popped up on the screen, checked the battery, showing 14v, machine is remote, replacing alternator, as there are no shops around here to test/rebuild. Any other suggestions? Thanks

    Please post a machine Serial Number and if possible a photo of the screen with the Code up on it.

    This is what the Operation & Maintenance Manual (should be one in the pocket behind the seat - if it has gone AWOL then you really need to get a replacement) says: - My first thoughts would be: - Check alternator output. Check battery voltage. The O&M Manual for your Serial Number is Cat Publication reference SEBU9282.
