Good morning, Some really useful info here and helpful people that have helped me through helping others in the past, but can't find the solution to a problem i am having. I have a 2003 Cat 312C excavator with hammer lines. When i hooked the lines up to a timber grab i had repaired i noticed that the grab would only close and not open. I looked and it seems only one side of the hammer line is working. I went into the cab monitor and cycled through all of the settings on the hammer and shear lines but none would get the other line to activate. When you press the right hand joystick lever/left top button there is a clear click and the solenoid is activated for the side that works, but pressing all of the other buttons on all other joysticks nothing happens. Even pressing the floor pedal only activates the one line. This is the first time i have tried to use the lines on this digger as i haven't had it that long. Its worth noting my cab monitor went down the other day due to a corroded wire behind it which i repaired, but i guessing the floor pedal would mean its not a loose wire not he monitor? Where are the solenoids located that activate the hammer lines? Any ideas much appreciated. Thanks James
A hammer circuit is only going to work in one direction. I believe you have to hook up Cat ET and program a circuit for the grab.
