Cat 313c cr boom raise fault code ?

Started it up the other day and an audible alarm with "bup" on screen. The boom wouldn't raise. Talking to service dept. over a few days, told me to flip toggle switch under the seat. That regained boom control but still has alarm and code. Can someone explain? What does the switch do? Guesses as to what caused problem to start with? It's a grey market machine. Thanks

    You've got a problem with your anti-collision control. There are sensors monitoring the angles of the various joints on the boom to prevent the bucket crashing into the cab. The switch under the seat disables the system. It's been several years since I had anything to do with one of these systems and at the time the technical information on it was sketchy. Try looking at the wiring connecting the sensors to the harness. I remember we had a break where the wires flex.
