Looking at getting a 2006 Cat 314c lcr, has right under 6,000 hrs. Is there anything I need to be aware of with this machine such as common problems?
Mine has over 10k hours. Been reliable, but, just know, certain repairs (alternator, starter, front crank seal) go best with counterweight removed. We do municipal size sewer work...dig, tram, dig, and I average 5k hours on a set of rails. Also have 314DLCR, and 2 314ELCR machines. My 314CLCR does NOT have a display monitor, so, I need ET anytime I have any issues that require interface (checking codes, setting hydraulics, etc...). The D & E are very comparable, but, i find the C to be a tad slower. And lower in power. On paper that's exactly how they compare, too.
