Here are some pics of a side job i picked up , I was operating a brand spankin new Komatsu WA250-5 had 19 hours on it when I first got in it , sometimes in the excavator and some in his Cat 430D with mechanical thumb we were doing a river restoration project building up the banks , making the river flow easier and clearing debris . it was all new to me so I just went with the flow bringing rocks and hauling material out of the river , it was fun I got more pics and story if you are interested

few more for now This project was a blast , the state hired him to fix up 1 mile of river , it was great because it was just starting to get warm again and the whole mile was a park, so you could imagine how great that was:naughty some of these pics paint a picture better then words , but basically for 3 weeks we were in the river making the river better for fishing , flow and playing in the river , the main idea for building up the banks was to stop the water from eating away at the banks , they were in bad shape there were parts in between the sandbox area and the river that if you didnt have good balance you were gonna get wet , but after we finished those same narrow pathes turned into a 4 foot walkway , we also cleared in all 200cy of forigen debris (trees and brush) from the river

you probably figured out that the pics with the snow on the ground was from the very beginning of the project after that little bit of snow it was 60 to 70 degrees the rest of the time , that huge rock in the bucket of the loader was a fun one to get it was right next to a bridge and we couldnt get to it from the river so we tracked the ex and drove the loader up to the bridge and began to fish out the rock , the only problem that 315 had with it was getting the bucket and thumb around it once that happened up it came and into my bucket a couple of these pics is from the "yard" we set we had onee of the quarries here running all day long mon thru fri bring rocks , you can guess the truck driver got a little too close to the bank and most of the rocks went into the river , so I had to drive down into the river and try and get them out , thats when the loader got stuck , but luckly I was able to get out using the bucket , sorry no pics of that , This project was fun but a pain with all the permits , special grease and having to look extra close at the water , if you seen rainbow colored water you better get the machine out of the waterand fix the leak We also ended up dredging alot of the river making it 2 to 3 feet deeper in most spots others we dug pools ranging from 4 to 6 feet deep , it was fun driving the loader through those 4 foot deep ones:cool2 Let me know if there are any specific pics you wanna see , ill try and help you out

Very nice. Did you have the river blocked off up stream? Cause it looks pretty dry and shallow in some spots. Got any pictures of the whole job completed? The loader looks pretty new.:beatsme

Yes we had the river dammed up we tried to keep a weak flow that and the bails of straw and oil absorbing log type things we hadgoing across the river, it was pretty deep in some parts thought, but we tried to keep it at a trickel, That loader was brand new , plastic still on the seat and the paint was still on the entire bucket , Ill have to look to see if i have any after pics

well the irony of this all is almost a year later we had a big flood , you may recall it was all over the news , anyhow the water was at its deepest point 17feet deep so it came through and whiped out most of our work , but if we hadnt have done some of the things we had done it would have torn things up alot worse

Thats one thing I would like to do. They did that to the creek where we live with a JD 892, and a Cat 315. That was pretty awesome to watch.
