Cat 365c no start not seeing engine ecu

Andrewk143 · 2023-09-12 10:32

Hi could I get some information on these fault codes for my cat 365c, engine has been out and won’t start since going back in, I know one of the fault codes is linked to it not receiving information from the engine ecu, but not finding anything on the other fault code, also if anyone has fuse box lay out that would be great as it keeps blowing a 15amp fuse every time I turn the ignition on which may be linked to my initial issue. Machine serial number: CAT0365CPMEM00189

1150-5 is related to the solenoid for controlling the swashplate angle on the swing pump. Attached document for the fuses.

Hi nige, yeah we found there to be a load of perished rubber/wires in the harness back to the machine ecu, all repaired and seems to have done the trick, ideally could do with a new harness but can imagine that will cost a lot. Cheers for your help again

Yes. See also this thread. Caterpillar wiring problems Hello guys, our CAT 329D had a problem in the wiring insulation, We had to change the wire harness completly, anyone seen this problem in CAT excavators? https://ibb.co/cQWpFf7 HeavyEquipmentForums I think you may want to reconsider the cost of a new harness vs the cost of a new machine.

Absolutely. If it shorted the harness and burned to a crisp the cost of a new harness would look pretty darn cheap.
