Hi everyone. Im new here and dont know much about heavy equipment. Ive run into a problem that im trying to get figured out but im not sure what i need to be looking at perhaps someone can help as google has not turned up anything useful. i have a cat 420eit (SN: DAN00662) and when ever i move the direction control lever into forward or backward in any gear i get a pulsing audible alarm and the ! light comes on. The machine still moves both forward and backward but the alarm and light stay active unless i do anything that neutralizes the transmission (parking brake, neutral lock, nutralizer button on the stick shift, nutralizer button on the loader joystick or move the direction lever back to the middle). machine starts and idles fine ( assuming idle is 1000 rpm). it only alarms when i try to move it. any ideas?
emergency break on ?
The hand brake is off. The light is working properly. Is 1000rpm the default low idle?
if the machine has the auto up stabilizers check that the stabilizers are fully retracted and the switch's are ok
I'll give this a look. one of the stabilizers does not go down at all and the auto up function seems to not consistently work. I will take this apart and see what i can learn.
yep the switch was not being turned off by the little stick on the top of part #7. Case closed!!!! thank you all very much for helping with this its been driving me nuts for a few weeks now. Now there is just one more thing to fix on this machine and its all done but i will make a separate post for that so we can keep the solution to this problem nice and clean to help anyone else who has this issue.
