I have a 1990/91 Cat 426 Series II backhoe. I had lost the fibre in the 4 wheel drive. Replaced ok but the the fibre plugged up transmission. It caused machine to lose forward drive. I replaced fluid three times attempting to flush transmission. I gained forward drive but lost reverse drive. What could be the issue. I am about to replace or rebuild transmission but I am wondering if it could something easier than rebuilding.
How did you come out on your transmission problem? I have a 416 and I think transmission is out.
