Cat 430D back bucket quick disconnect coupler

One of our 430D's has the quick disconnect coupler on the back bucket and we are having some trouble with it. With the quick disconnect their is a pin that you pull out then insert a rod into quick disconnect and push down to release bucket, as you all know. The problem is that if you put the bucket on the ground and curl out it disconnects without putting the rod in. Another time we had our hammer on it and we had it up in the air and the hammer fell right off, luckily it was low enough that it didn't rip the hydraulic lines off. I was wondering if anyone else is having a similar problem and had some input. We were figuring it might be the spring in the quick disconnect wearing out, not sure though.

It is working properly. The rod is only used if you have a problem with it hanging up. You must put the safety pin in before useing the bucket or attachment.
