Fuel timing and settings correct? How have you determined the water flow through the radiator is correct?

I am assuming the thermostat and waterpump have been checked if the rad has been done. Over fuelling as Per suggests will cause it with one of them old girls.

Many many moons ago; cat had a technical information bulliten about the hole for the timing pin location in some D343s was drilled wrong. Creating the wrong timing. I know i once went through this problem when i was alot younger and wiser. Ended up spill timing it. I can dig it out if all else fails. Just one thing you have used a heat gun to make sure it is running too hot ??? Just asking as heard of one guy with a D8H that was overheating no one could work it out ?? Some mushroom had routed the temp gauge line along next to ex manifold instead of along water manifold where it should run. !!

Temp gun makes it easy to determine in and outlet temp from Radiator also.
