if a caterpillar 928f is intermittently engaging and disengaging gearsg,what could the problem be,and what should i do?
trans kickout switch..if its the same as a 950 f its beside the left brake pedal under a little cover. there are 2 microswitches in there that are both probably toast (the other one is for the brakelights iirc)
In addition to the kick out I've had problems with the harness as it goes over the frame under the back of the cab. It rubs a hole in the harness and starts shorting out. I've also had the box that the shift handle attaches to get water in it and short out. The was on open top machines.
had one with the handle go bad.
