Cat c series power upgrade?

Since all the c series Cats have the same motor and the 279 & 89s have less horsepower than the 299 can the 79 & 89be turned up? I don't really want a vertical lift machine but want the higher horsepower of the 299.

    Short answer, no. As you can see, there's a fair few differences in the iron. Also the 299 has an aftercooler whilst the 279 is naturally aspirated.

    Sorry, my mistake. both machines are turbocharged. 299C is aftercooled, 279C isn't.

    Take a look at the CASE TR340 it is 90 hp and radial. It is DEF of course but no DPF like the Kubota motor. Been real happy with mine.
