Looking at a 73A with PS, straight blade over c frame and rippers, to purchase to sink a dam plus do some access upgrades The ripper circuit has a diverter valve plus remote that we thought we could tap into to fit a tilt cylinder on the blade - problem being ergonomics of using the ripper control whilst using the blade control. We have been told trying to get the factory D6C tilt pedals with (we presume) a 3 valve tank to run the tilt, is rocking horse material. Does anyone have other solutions? Ideally retrofiting a wobble stick out a d would be great, but how is this done with only 2 valves?
I do not think they ever made a three valve tank. Even the D6D is a two valve tank with an external valve for the ripper. In this day and age I would be looking at some sort of electric switch connected to a solenoid that controls a hydraulic function. Find out where the power beyond port is. Connect your electrohydraulic valve to it then return back into the tank and put your control switch on the blade lever. You do not need speed control for a tilt ram. One thing is for sure though, the hydraulic tank is in an absolute b*****d of a place to do anything to.
Thanks RC - looking to get a cylinder from Tillys to fit up as per your call - just got to sort the welding / clevice situation
