Cat d6m lgp codes

Curtis Baker · 2023-04-08 23:28

The dozer seems to be functioning fine. Just there seems to be one active code and several others that are logged that I wonder if they are of concern. 030 031f55 active one 821f04 819f02 600f04 324f05 248f02 096f03 113 177f03 690f05 691f07 692f07 693f07 697f05 699f05 722f06

So what is the machine Serial Number and which one out of that long list of Codes is Active.? This may assist you. To erase all the Loggd Codes will require a Service Tool known as a Click Box but as a one-off you can do the job with just a couple of short pieces of automotive wire. See this thread especially Posts 51 & 52 on Page 3. The famous Cat "Click Box" It is a regular event on HEF for someone to post a question regarding Cat machine electronics, Diagnostic Codes, etc. For a large number of the questions posted the answer(s) revolve around the famous Cat “Click Box”, otherwise known as the 4C-8195 Control Service Tool. This tool usually hooks... HeavyEquipmentForums

Sorry. Serial number is 4JN00676. The only active code that I noticed is 030 031f55

Also sorry. I missed on your OP that you marked which one was the Active Code. This is weird. 030 is the Monitor System which is pretty standard but Component Ref 031 does not exist in any system I have access to. The components go from 28 straight to 41. Can you post a photo of the digital screen when that Code is present please. Don't need the 030 part, just the rest of it.

I'm baffled. It looks kosher enough but Component 031 does not exist and neither does F55. The Failure Modes only go up to 21.

This one is odd but M series dozers were just crap when it came to their electronic systems. I went to the big code list and found this: Failure Mode Identifier (FMI) Codes on J1939 data link The FMI is used along with the SPN to provide specific information that relates to a diagnostic trouble code (DTC). The FMI may indicate that a problem with an electronic circuit or an electronic component has been detected. The FMI may also indicate that an abnormal operating condition has been detected. The codes are displayed in the form “SPN - FMI”. The ECM / ECU also attaches a text description to the message that is transmitted over the J1939 data link. This text description is used to describe the SPN - FMI. The failure mode of the DTC is determined by evaluating the electronic signal from the suspect circuit. The failure mode identifiers can be divided into two categories: • Codes that indicate that a problem with an electronic circuit or an electronic component has been detected • Codes that indicate that a system event has been detected 31 Transmission Range Position

That seems to correspond to a CID299 FMI08 Diagnostic Code. Attached the procedure for trobuleshooting it. Do the symptoms described tally with how your machine is behaving.? It may pay you to do the calibration of the FNR control position sensor.

    Just curious if you found what all of these codes were. Currently have over half of the same codes and the transmission dummy light flashing at me. 030 096F03 - 030 110F08 - 030 248F02 - 030 271F05 030 600F04 030 819F02 - 030 821F04 - 113 168F04 113 673F02 113 689F05 113 690F05 113 691F07 113 692F07 113 693F07 D6M 4JN00916

Which ones out of that list are Active.? In other words the SERV CODE icon is illuminated when you have the Code on screen.

113 673F02 is the active code. Seems to drive fine and goes through the gears as normals

A fault with #2 transmission output speed sensor. So long as #1 speed sensor continues to function there will be no effect on machine performance. Diagnostic procedure attached. It might pay you to read the Click Box thread HERE , especially Posts #50-52 on Page 3 where a method is shown to use a couple of pieces of wire to duplicate the Click Box functions. You could put your Monitor into Service Mode and erase 13 of the 14 Diagnostic Codes with the exception of the 673-02 Code which is Active.

Any idea on what the 55 part stands for? I picked up the ecat program and am able to look at the Trans, steering, and brake ecm but not the monitor ecm for some reason. Current problem with the dozer is it seems to apply brake pressure when the decel is released off the bottom. It'll push thru it but labour's bad

Answered in Post #8 above. A problem with the transmission shifter position sensor. The troubleshooting procedure was attached along with a suggestion that you should carry out the calibration procedure for the directional shifter position solenoid. Not exactly sure what you are describing here. Can you elaborate.? A suggestion would be to test the function of the brake pedal limit switch and the brake pedal position sensor. They are both located on the same shaft assembly on which the decelerator pedal pivots. The brake limit switch is Normally Open and the contacts should only close when the service brake pedal is almost at the bottom of its travel. When the switch closes it commands the ECM to apply the parking brake. If the switch is maladjusted or sticking the release of the parking brake could be delayed resulting in sluggish machine performance. To check the operation of the brake pedal position sensor you will need a multimeter capable of measuring duty cycle. The sensor duty cycle should be in the range of 8% to 37% with the pedal in the UP position. With the pedal pressed fully DOWN the duty cycle should be a minimum of 61%.

Sorry that should read "directional shifter position sensor", not solenoid.
