Have 2005 cat d6r with the following service codes, I'm not sure which ones are active or old. Machine has always been a good running. When the service code light starts flashing it will not idle up, like it's in limp mode. In the past I could shut off and turn back on then would be good again, this time not the case. Now today with it at an idle the service code light came on, started having rough idle and black smoke. Please post a Serial Number. If you scroll through that list of Codes watch the RH side of the digital Monitor screen for the SERV CODE icon. If that icon is lit then the Code is Active, if it is not lit then the Code is Logged (old). Active Codes are the only ones you need to worry about. Might pay you to look at this thread. You can erase Logged Codes with no more than a couple of short lengths of automotive cable and three connector sockets. See Page 3, Posts 50, 51, & 52. Take the time to read that thread I linked above. It would probably help if you could erase all the Logged Codes leaving just the Active ones and a much shorter list to deal with.
