Hello everyone. Our company has a CAT D6T (SMC prefix), and we are experiencing an issue with its undercarriage. We had to replace the equalizer bar and the front idlers, and we also replaced about four rollers. Now, however, we are having trouble with the idlers: a burr is forming on the inner side of the two idlers on the right-hand side, as if the track chain is putting pressure on the side of the idlers. Could anyone offer some insight into what we should check first to try and resolve this?
Need the exact machine Serial Number to identify what undercarriage option it is fitted with. How many total hours are on the machine.? What Part Number of E-Bar & idlers were installed.? Were they OEM Cat parts or aftermarket.? Can you post some photos showing how the RH side idlers are wearing.? Also please post some photos showing the wear pattern on the front and rear track rollers on the RH side.
SMC01706. 7868 hours. We bought the E-bar remanufactured, but it is an OEM part. The idles are OEM, serial number 395-4325. PHOTOS
Pictures are definitely required. Could be a number of things including bent trackframes
Did the abnormal wear issue start immediately after the installation of the E-Bar and the idlers.? Were new idlers only fitted on the RH side of the tractor or on both sides.? If new idlers were fitted to both sides how are the ones on the LH side wearing.? Was the E-Bar remanufactured by Cat.? If so can you supply the Part Number please. Not 20R-0878 by any chance.? The Part Number of the idlers does not seem to match up to the information I have. I show 202-4304 that does not appear to update to 395-4325 unless the Cat dealer has information to the contrary. Your photo album does not clearly show the type of track installed on the tractor. Can you supply a photo please.
