What would be the weight of an early D8, the cable type with pony start? It is available for scrap value. Offers?
ACMOC is another good place to advertise. And what is scrap price? what it would bring cut up and hauled in, or what it's worth as it sits to be cut up?
Last cable unit I know of being hauled was figured at 37 ton, everything removable including much fuel, cables was removed before loading. That was twelve years ago by a friend of mine moving an old derelict he also wanted to keep, believe it was a 1956.
My 1952 2U series D8 pony start cable machine with square tube non roll over canopy, rear CCU, and straight cable blade tipped the scales at a bit over 21 tons when I hauled it home. Them old machines are not real heavy. Cat data matches real close what my machine weighs. Post a serial number and more info on blade type, what accessories are on it, etc, and we can look it up.
