Hi everyone, hope someone can help me out with a D8T, goes forward, steering works but wont go backwards, its a J8B serial number prefix, there is a fault code 585-2 which i believe is a trans output speed sensor, not been able to change this but i am assuming this won't cause the fault with reverse as it goes forward no problems, any help with location of the forward/reverse solenoids would be appreciated, thinking to swap these to see if i can move the fault to forward travel or eliminate the solenoids.. thanks in advance..
Suggestion: Troubleshoot and fix the speed sensor problem first. Procedure attached. If you need an electrical schematic please ask. If the direction clutch solenoid had failed it would be registering a Diagnostic Code just like the one for the speed sensor, so it's possible but not likely. If that doesn't fix it then you are probably in to pressure testing. Could be the reverse direction clutch has let go. Second suggestion. Does the transmission oil look black or smell burned.?
Thanks for your reply. Will check harness and wiring back to ecm. The oil isnt low or burnt smelling.
I sent you the Electrical Schematic via PM. Check your messages. I suggest to cut the filter and look for particles after you finish troubleshooting the Speed Sensor issue.
