Anyone have any tricks to get this style of cap off? Never removed these caps before
There’s a ring that’s in that slot in the side of the can, if you heat it up with a brazing tip and use a heavy pick to roll it out, you can turn those round holes in the rod guide and just roll it right out. After you get that out, the rod guide will pull out and you’ll be able to pull the rod out. When you go back together, there’s a hole in the rod guide slot that you “hook” that ring into and use the holes in the rod guide to roll it back in. It’s fairly simple once you get started on it.
