Hey everyone been looking at the forum for a little while now and decided to make a account and share pics of what ive done so far First up is the first job for the new company(not mine my best friends who i work for currently) we are building a 60 acre subdivision and we are doing all the dirt and pipe work the clearing we got contracted out, enjoy!
Nice project. I looked at a 60 acre mini-farm project Thursday, we'll see how it evolves. Is there any marketable timber that needs to be cleared? Can you burn on-site or will the vegetation have to be ground? Looking forward to progress pics. BTW - what's all that white stuff on the ground?
cool, no its mostly pine so the clearing company is just chipping it and hauling it off, yeah we can burn on site we have burned a lot already, been on site for a month now so it looks a lot different then in the pics we demoed all the buildings and burned them to save on trucking cost to the dump. haha yeah that's nothing for lower Michigan haven't had really a lot of snow this winter which is good for us, get this 50 and rain tommorow and Tuesday there calling for 7 inches of snow! go figure!!
getting some good fires going Ooo one of many forestry pieces showed up nite burning
I wish we could burn demo debris. The only time it's burned is when the FD does a train burn but it's hard to get the FD's around here to do it anymore. They're worried with liability.. The only material we can burn is natural vegetation, not even untreated framing lumber. The county I live in we can open burn from Oct 1 to May 1. An adjacent larger county requires an air curtain pit burner, permit (fee of course ) and an inspection prior to burning. Keep the pics coming.
Yeah the township is pretty small where the project is so all they required was a burn permit and to let them know when we are burning that's all which was nice for us, that sucks just to burn some "wood" more cool stuff showed up! tree clearing progress more progress Zz beast looking for its next victim and finally a new toy for us to use!
Looks like a fun project!! Is there much log-able timber on that piece of land?
yeah so far its has been, no its mostly pine so its good to be chipped is about all it good for
got a off road truck! loading stump to be burned whats this???? A 349!!!!! all lined up one morning warming up (the Volvo we don't have anymore on site)
A 349 will make quick work of grubbing stumps. Do you have to haul the concrete off-site or is there a place to bury it on the project?
I've never run a 349, but I have a friend who has a 350. I have run it a few times, and you don't grub stumps with a 350, you pluck them, kinda like plucking blossoms. :tong
Depends on your description of grub :tong
CM -we burred it all where we mined all the sand out for the fills on the project. Mitch -yeah pretty much lol! although good thing we don't have to pull all the stumps out on the whole job of what was cut
loading up junk to be burred Timco feller buncher eating trees pulling back the top soil stockpile to make room for the 12,000yrds of sand we have to get more moving stripping to get ready for sand
hoggin sand!!! hit a water pocket about 5ft down sitting on a shelf and if just kept on coming in eventually had to break out the 3 inch trash pump hoggin how low can ya go!!! 25yrd truck......30yrds on it........production!!!!!!
Sure is nice having a 349 when you are digging that deep!
Considering a 349 is really a 490, you can only imagine Mitch I haven't run a 349 but have put a bunch of time on a 345, and 470, would love to have a thumb on one for brushing.
The 350 I was talking about is a Cat, so a 500 in normal hoespeak
You schooled me Mitch, I didn't even know those existed, have never seen a 350 cat before now!!
About caught up on the pics, these are from the end of last week had to build a log road over the culvert for the creek, we had about 4ft deep ruts and the culvert is 7ft down and we were starting to pump the ground :Banghead hydro stumper cats playing in the snow storm i ran this picking through that pile of wood and dirt to burn eventually boss man getting it!
