has anyone out ther have a cylinder repair kit,or a suggestion how to tighten the packing on a D7 17A hydraulic cylinder?
If your D7 hydrolic cylinder is leaking, you could removed the 4 cap screws from the alumunium gland, pry the gland out far enough and you should see the paking damaged.
Ok thanks for reply, would you have any parts for this if required?
If this is the type that has the v packing on the rod, there should be a cap that is retained with 4 capscrews. Originally there were shims under the retainer that could be removed to allow additional compression of the packings as they wear. Over time as the shims are removed there will reach a point that all the shims are gone and the cyl will need to be disassembled and resealed. Some really old cylinders had a 2 bolt floating retainer that did not use shims. A picture would help and any numbers on the cylinder
I should have some packing but like 56wrench if you have to much shims you could removed somebut you need to cut the shim for removing and do not tight to much the gland when you reassambly you could crack the aluminun gland
