Caterpillar excavator 320L bottom rollers

Ben1ak ยท 2023-09-17 21:01

Replaced rails and now having a problem with the rails scraping on rock guards and hitting the tops of pins, rollers are in good condition although there is a 1/2-3/4" of space between the width of the new rails and the width of the roller flange, my question is, are the flanges of the rollers worn out and letting new chains move in order to scrape on rock guards. Cannot find any information about flange thickness

Thanks for your help Nige, when I was looking at a friend's 320b I noticed that the rollers on his did not have the side to side clearance from flange to chain. This damage to pin boss(?) was done just moving machine 50ft.

So "will fit" then. What pitch are the chains, 190mm or 200mm.? According to the seller were they designed to fit a 320B.? Try measuring across your friend's links and yours between the pin faces as shown by the RED line. Do they both measure the same.? T BH you can measure across anywhere on the track links provided that you measure across exactly the same place on both machines.

Don't know the pitch, but should there be this much clearance between chain and roller shown in picture. I would say there's 3/4" the chain rails walk from side to side

Do the measurements of width between your machine and the other one. That will probably answer the question whether the links you installed are correct for your machine or not. Or compare the width of the new links with the ones you removed.

We checked prior to install comparing new and old, everything checked out good. My question now is, were the old chains correct to the machine, Seams Caterpillar has no information on this machine as far as undercarriage goes which was odd to us?

Numbers are the same as 9w- 3137 although old rails read 9w-3137X, I don't know what X means. Do you have any idea
