We are rebuilding a rear final drive on a cat 966f series 1 and are struggling with the formula they use in the workshop manual to set the preload, the figure we come up with is way to low as the nut is still loose. We are doing the seal resistance first as they tell us and transferring the figure across to the main formula but it still doesnt work. Any tips would be appriciated thanks
As you never mentioned a Serial Number I had to pick one at random. Is it the procedure from Step 26 onwards that you are having trouble with.?
