Does anyone on here know anything about aftermarket vertical stabilizers that would have been bought in the late 90's? I have a 555c Ford with them on it. I would like to swap them out for standard ones if it isn't too difficult. They aren't the normal side shift stabilizers that Ford offered. They look to bolt on like normal ones. The previous owner told me that a cemetery department owned the machine and the stabilizers were designed to fit in between existing graves. Thanks
Here's a list of machines being parted out. https://www.machinerytrader.com/lis...ed-machines/list/manufacturer/ford/model/555c
Also likely designed to not damage the ground by pushing straight down. My standard ones will tear the grass off as they move horizontally through the swing.
Looking at the ones skata referenced on machinerytrader, it appears the frame might be modified on your machine for those stabilizers.
It "looks" like you just unpin the old ones and pin the traditional cylinder to the top and the stabilizer arm to the bottom. If they did modify it, it doesn't look too involved to get her back to a traditional style stabilizer. Probably need to take some measurements to be sure though..
