Clark 666C Coolant Leak?

Hi there all, I have a interesting one, just wondering if anyone out there has had the same problem. The other day when dragging up hill, coolant starting to leak out of somewhere,it leaked out and sprayed out over my right shin, from behind the panels that covers the throttle area, ( if you know what i mean?? ) When I got to the top of the hill, it stopped leaking? when I got back to the skid, I pulled the side panels off to see if I could see where this leak was coming from, but nothing. Went back and did another drag, and same thing, only leaked when facing up hill?? Going down hill, no leak, along the flat, no leak?? So, has anyone one had this same thing, or might know what could be causing this?? Thanks Paul

They are notorious for head gaskets.

What engine is in it. Cummins or Detroit 4-53? What is the temp gauge showing when pulling uphill. Assuming harder pull than level or downhill. Sounds like a radiator pushing thru the cap relief tube. May be blown back by the fan if the fan is set to pull air in. Seems a bit much for a head gasket if its running right.

It has the 4-53 Detroit in her. As for the temp gauge, its been replaced with a aftermarket one, that now reads in Celsius. When pulling up hill, she gets up to the high 90's 'C, when going down hill or along the flats, it drops down to the high 80's 'C. The cap is old, so should replace it with a new one, do you know what pressure the new cap should be?? as the current one has no markings etc on it. The fan is blowing air, not pulling air, is this set up right? She is running well, and makes heaps of power. Thanks
