I have just finished replacing the seals in the hydraulic rams. The mast cylinder uses gravity for lowering so there is only oil in bottom of cylinder. How do the top seals get lubricated?
Think of that cylinder as a bottle jack. Its single acting so there is no hydraulic oil on the head side. I usually lube the new head seal when I assemble it. It doesn't really need much else.
