Hey new to the forum hope you guys could help me out. Got a clark ranger 660 skidder has a trans charge pump problem seems to be pulling air but trans shows full but unsure if stick is orginal to machine. Pump will make pressure at higher throttle but falls off i pulled suction line off didnt get any fluid but not sure if pickup tube snakes down to bottom so was wondering if anybody has any expericence with clarks and has any info on charge pump curcit and trans breakdown thanks for your help
if it is a powershift a buddy of mine had the same problem and he said there was a screen that was plugged my phone number is 715-704-0407 if you have more questions. i might be able to figure it out with a little more detail
The screen and the drain plug are one in the same, however if the screen is stopped up you probably have further damage to the trans. The pump could be they culprit.
ok thanks guys yeah i was thinkin screen may be plugged but was unsure where it was located thanks for info gonna get back on that machine next week let ya kno how i make out
Hamer, Try over filling trans, I know on the Clark HR 28000 series the suction pipe is in 2 sections. There is an "o ring between the top and lower transmission cases that gets hard , had this on a couple Clarks, Had to add about 5 gals of oil, ran them for about a 6 months like that, no issues. When I overhauled them . I found both units with brittle "o" rings, Real simple power shift trans to overhaul. Ken
thx bc cat yea i started overfilling it put about 2 gals in and seemed to be getting better but had to leave job for a couple days so i figured i would try to get alittle more info on unit
