i have a 02 c12 attached to a 8LL tranny,is adjusting the clutch anything like my old truck 855 cummins attached to a eaton 13 speed. thanks
Yes it's the same. Set a 1/2" gap between the throw out bearing and clutch brake first then adjust your free travel if necassary to 1 1/2" - 2".
might even be easier depending on how old your 855 was. The newer clutches you just push in and turn (similar to a slack adjuster) to adjust freeplay unlike the old ones that you had to remove a tab and then use a special tool (or prybar) to turn the ring. your essentially doing the same thing they just made it easier.
yes the 855 was the older one with the tab,i had to pound on the ring with a huge screw driver,if i remember right i had to move the ring clockwise to tighten up the clutch.
