Common Rail Injector Rebuild Place?

Birken Vogt · 2024-08-16 08:52

Is there a place that rebuilds common rail injectors somewhere in the USA? Seems I remember hearing about a place in Texas that was supposed to be good. Engine is a Deere 4045.

This is the place I used for my injection pump, did a great job They list common rail https://www.dieselusa.com/louisville_ky.html

Rebuild is not a common option on common rail. [Yet] I would try searching the denso part number on the Injector. Or at least the deere number. Multiple good vendors that sell oe denso for far less than thru deere. Some of the same vendors offer testing and possibly reman

This would be a good project for this, trying to keep costs down, but again we need to know who is real and reliable, the internet is full of scammers. Now the pump is also starting to be suspect on this job, it is a 2 cylinder Denso pump, those are probably rebuilt all day I would guess if I can find the right shop for that.

In Canada? Are there import/export complications for sending stuff there for work?

It just has to clear customs.

So is it worth it to send stuff to the opposite side of the continent in a foreign country? I presume you used them at the shop to make this recommendation? My industry is 10-20 years behind the times so just coming to this sort of stuff now.

Possibly. Our experience has been most common rail components are not really competitive to rebuild. So you ship em out, wait a week or 2, get a testing charge, only to be told they are not worth rebuilding. Others may have had better experience. Post a part number, likely a supplier we have worked with will have them.

    Part number is DZ100212

This............ I wouldn't even consider Reman for common rail injectors unless the OEM were doing what Cat used to do (most of the time) and supply new injectors in a box with a Reman Part Number sticker on it. first time I saw that it made my ears prick up. If an OEM can't successfully Reman these components what chance does a fuel injection shop have.?

It’s not so much the process, it’s the cost.. EVERY ONE of them are different and EVERY ONE of them takes different testing capabilities.. And EVERY ONE of them REQUIRES YOU to be a “dealer” inorder to get the parts breakdown and test specs.!! So there’s another 200k.. So there u sit with 10,00k worth of test equipment and dealer licenses.. “HOPING” someone will walk in with a set of injectors.. THEN, like Bosch did, they tied the inj pump dealer license to their injectors.. inorder to get/remain a inj pump dealer, you HAD TO BUY their 80k injector test stand..!! THATS the primary reason u see all the fuel shops folding up..!! Bosch held 75% of the diesel market and if u can’t get the info to rebuild and test their equipment, what are you going to do.?? Besides throw away 80k for an injector test stand..

That matches to a T what I was told by a old local shop Wentland Diesel injection service. He was a certified Bosch/Standyne shop. He retired sold his newer shop/property and moved his older equipment back to his original shop at his house and only does older full mechanical part time. He just wasn't going to invest in expensive equipment at his age. Loren said { It's not that common rails can't be rebuilt it's how much ROI is going to take place}.

I haven't, know of a local that did with no issues.

It is really a sad thing.!! The place I worked at, held a Bosch license for 50 YEARS.!!! And then 1 day they said if u don’t buy our test stand for 80-110k we WILL PULL YOUR LICENSE.!! NO MORE PUMP INFO AND NO SUPPORT.. Even if u had no intentions on doing common rail injectors, u still had to buy a test stand.!! u were REQUIRED to.. So they sold the business, everyone quit and they folded up the fuel shop.!!

A lot of fuel shops don’t advertise on the web. Google: association of diesel specialist.. It’s an organization that 90% of fuel shops belong to.. It lists EVERY MEMBER and what they do/rebuild.. AND it’s broken down by STATES.. Give it a try.. u can either email or call them.. Good luck
