I borrowed a pressure washer to wash my skid steer so I could check for leaks. I noticed the blades on the plastic cooling fan had a covering of dirt on them. Could this cause a fan to go out of balance? I wiped them all clean and never had a problem but just curious if the dirt wasn't build up the same on all of them if the fan would tear itself apart?
Odds are that your fan built up the dirt evenly, so not much of a balance issue... but not cleaning it off evenly could be a problem.
