2001 GMK4100 counterweight cylinder problems Our Grove Counterweight Cylinders won't move up or down. The most applicable and local solenoids seem to be working and there is hydraulic pressure on the lines when pushing the cylinder button up and down. No movement happens. Any ideas?
Is there a lever that needs to be moved to divert flow to that system. I don't know if that's what stopping flow on the crane. I know some backhoes you have to switch a lever to send oil to the counter weight lift. Then the switch works the cylinders
sounds like its not letting return in either dirrection go back to tank since you say lines both have preasure on them
Have seen the o rings on the lock valves blow and do that .
You mention the solenoids appear to be working. How did you check them? Normally to see if the solenoid coil is energised you will need a magnet stick which will indicate if they are functioning or not. Also most solenoids have the ability to be operated manually, if you look at the centre of the end of the solenoid there should be a small shaft which you can push in with a screw driver. Whilst operating the counterweight circuit push this in & see what happens.
I the house lock engaged?
turn the overide key....may make them work in a pinch as well.....had a sensor go out on us once and that worked to move them in a pinch........may be one of the sensors that tell whether the cylinders are all the way up/down and all the way locked/unlocked......
