Couple Cat Skid Questions

DirtCrawler ยท 2016-06-05 11:51

If a Cat skid doesn't have Ride Control can it be enabled by the software or no? If so, anybody know the charge to add it? Also looking for pricing on adding the Attachment Control Harness. Thanks

It is more than a software upgrade. Ride Control is accomplished by using accumulators on the lift cylinders. I have no idea what it costs to add after the fact or if it is even possible.

I was thinking about the accumulator as well. On a wheeled machine ride control consists of an accumulator, a solenoid valve plumbed into the hydraulic system for the lift cylinders, hydraulic lines to connect the valve to the accumulators, a switch to turn the system on/off, and electrical wiring for the switch and the solenoid valve. On a machine such as this one it is possible that the wiring is already in the dash for the switch but that would be about it AFAIK. Adding anything after the fact is always possible, whether it's economically and practically feasible is another story. It may need the disassembly of half the machine to get the parts installed.
