CX160B – low track power and whiny pump(s)

Hello all - thank you so much for the support on my CX160B electrical problem. With the feedback, i was able to get into the service screens and determine that the pressure transmitter was bad on P2. I replaced the transmitter and have now ran the machine for about 8 hours. Keep in mind - both P1 and P2 were rebuilt prior to my other post. The pump repair shop said they were in rough shape. The machine has 10,000 hours on it. I recently had an experienced Case Operator jump in the machine and he noted: " I don't think the tracks have enough power" and the "pumps are whining" more than i think they should be. I recorded this video this morning of some simple movement of the machine. This shows the P1 and P2 pressure. Can anyone provide some help or assist further? It had new filters after the rebuild.. but could it be a filter again? Video link to the service menu for anyone that can't see the video.. when i try to climb a simple pile - both P1 and P2 go above 3,000 psig... P1 and 3102 and P2 at 3403. Note: It seems that P2 is always running higher than P1. Thanks in advance! Regards, Brad

Good day When the pumps were repaired was the system cleaned, of the track motors suffer from low quality fluid. Kind regards Uffex

The oil was changed and the filters were changed when the new pumps were put on. What do you mean by "was the system cleaned" how do you clean the system? Should I change the filters again?

Good day Brad Sorry for the delay in response, rebuilding pumps are best left to those with test facility s, I suggest that after 10,000 hours the system would accumulate considerable deb-re. Any suction filters should be removed, cleaned fluid changed and preferably flushed using a kidney machine. What is very important is commissioning the pump after repair replacement. The inevitable happens some contamination occur, bleeding - running the pump with no pressure for at least twenty minutes at low revs and gradually increasing the revolutions at which point you can adjust the pressures. Only you know if this work was carried out if not it may be a short time that you are back in the same situation. Catterpillar used to offer an additive for hydraulic fluid, my experience it had a significant effect on the noise level of pumps. Kind regards Uffex
