Does anyone know if there is some sort of throttle tensioner adjustment, where the linkage goes into the injector pump/governor control on the D330 engine? What happens is when the throttle lever is pulled back to operate, it keeps slipping back ahead & the engine slows up. When I first got the tractor, the throttle linkage was seized up tight, not move freely, so I oiled the cross shaft inside of the dash & now the opposite is happening. There is nothing apparent on the outside of the pump where adjustment can be done that I can see.
Is there a large diameter section on the end of the throttle shaft ? Later Bob
I think have got 78A parts book at the shop but I think the friction clutch is in the dash
Try looking at the round bit on the injector pump at the end of the linkage, it is bolted in place with 4 little fasteners, it contains 3 springs and 2 rollers, clean up the parts but do not oil anything other than the spindle, it might be easier to remove the end of the pump to do it?? if not a cable tie helps with the re-assembly. tctractors
Sorry, grabed the wrong manual
Yes, as per my attached file there is an round section where it enters the governor. Is there some adjustment to make in there?
Sounds like you may be referring to the same thing as Bob tc? See my attached photo on the reply to him for clairification. Metalman.
Okay Metalman inside the housing is three springs and two rollers. Take it apart carefully and clean everything. Rough up the inner diameter of the ring so the rollers will grip. Make sure the spring holes are clean so springs move freely. Then reassemble with NO OIL. When together the rollers should hold the throttle in position. Each roller has a spring forcing it against the inner diameter of the ring, the other spring sits in the slots of the two flanges, holding them inline but allowing them to move enough to release the rollers. Ok, thanks Bob....appreciate that!
The paper gasket is needed to space things correctly??? you might find it handy to stuff 1 of your mums Curtains under the work area. tctractors
Here's a generic view of what it looks like inside. You need to concentrate on Section A-A. I think the gasket Item 13 is a 9S-2308.
Ok, thanks for the additional information...appreciate it.
Not sure how this will turn out with limited file size, but here are the instructions.
It came through quite good & is clear enough to read ok.....thanks Old Magnet.
Gasket is a 7M6955 = 6S3862 Seal is a 8H9180 = 9S4671 = CR #519932
